The Peak Transfer team went to Europa Adventure Park in Rust, Germany this week. It was roller-coaster-tastic!
From Chamonix it takes just under 4 hours (360 km). The route we took was over the Col du Montets into Vallorcine towards Montreux around Lac Leman. The scenery is beautiful and the size of Lac Leman in a mountain landscape is breath taking. With tight hair-pin bends though tiers of vineyards it is a spectacular scene.
From Montreux we drive into Germany towards Berne and then on past Basel when we started seeing signs for Europa Adventure Park.
At the park there are several hotels and a camp resort. We booked our accommodation a couple of weeks before our trip, which we needed to do as it was pretty busy. With a choice of a Wild West Wagon, Tepee or Log Cabin the Peak Transfer team chose a to stay in a Wild West Wagon.
The facilities on site are brilliant and breakfast is included in the price. The Silver Lake Saloon has a great atmosphere and the food is tasty and filling. But watch out for the Sheriff, he manages the Saloon and keeps a close eye on goings-on! Check out our camp photos.
The theme at Europa for October is Halloween. Everywhere is decorated with pumpkins, witches, ghosts and skeletons…and we mean everywhere, the place looks amazing! And with over 100 attractions, there is a lot to squeeze in. The Peak Transfer Team’s favourites were roller coasters: Vrooar – for pure speed; Blue Fire – for being thrown side to side and taken upside-down; and Wodan – for the creakiest, rickety body shaking experience of all. Doors opened at 9am and we didn’t leave until 7pm…we had a blast!
Looking to do something different this autumn? Europa Adventure Park is definitely worth a visit and great for families or a group of friends. Even though we stayed overnight, which certainly added to the fun-factor, it is possible to do it in a day from Chamonix. So if there’s a group of you interested in going, give us a call and we can let you know our price to take you.
