Those of us that live in the Alps (especially Chamonix) are generally guilty of working and playing hard! But its not everyones idea of fun to trudge up a mountain summit by your own steam then work out what is the fastest (and probably unsafest) way down! Therefore, we are usually oblivious to the natural thermal and high quality spa resorts on our door step. Chamonix, St Gervais, Courmayuer and Megève are not just about climbing or skiing mountains but have some of the best and most unique Spa resorts and treatments available in the Europe, let alone the Alps. If you fancy doing something a little bit more relaxing, why not have a spa break or weekend? We are spoilt for choice to indulge ourselves in such a beautiful mountain setting. We have come up with our top Spa choices locally.
When you think of Megève, you think class, luxury and glamor enticing Europe’s (and even the Worlds) elite. So its unsurprising to know that Megève in its own right has a plentiful supply of Spa hotels for you to choose from. Being only just over an hour transfer from Geneva Airport you make the most of your break rather than spending it on the road. These are our Megève favourites
Les Fermes de Marie – Best for luxury!
Les Fermes de Marie is a luxury Spa and 5-star hotel where you can truly relax and a fine style of living reign supreme. A family friendly Spa hotel where you can experience the charm of Megève and its surroundings all year round.

You can work off your lunch or tone up in the fitness room, lap pool or simply exploring the local mountains. Or you could just relax with a glass or two on the beautiful terrace. Pure Altitude Spas have developed their own cosmetic treatment range that uses plant extracts with rare active ingredients from over 50 mountain plants for you to try.
Hotel Le Chalet du Mont d’Arbois – Best for a girly weekend!
With its elegant decor and unique surroundings, the five-star Chalet du Mont d’Arbois offers all these ingredients to make your stay an exceptional one. A great place for treatment lovers and “foodies” a like you won’t leave disappointed.

For a more light hearted, romantic and natural break in true Italian style then Pré Saint Didier is the perfect spa retreat for you! Just a short distance from Courmayeur at the foot of Mont Blanc in the Aosta Valley (just 90-minutes from Geneva), Pré Saint Didier is a Spa town dating back to 1800 due to its natural warm Thermal Baths. The source of which comes from a nearby ravine.
Pré Saint Didier Spa – Best for a Romantic Getaway!
Pré Saint Didier Spa is definitely a Spa resort rather than just a hotel with Spa facilities. Their whole ethos is to relax, vitalise and regenerate. Embrace the healing properties of the thermal waters which include to help purify the body, stimulate circulation, lymphatic circulation and metabolism, as well as de stress. There are three open-air thermal pools with stunning views of the Mont Blanc massif and surrounding green valley. If the Spa’s fantastic waterfalls, hydro massages and water jets are not quite hitting the spot then the masseuses will take care of it for you.
Wood and natural stone decor throughout the saunas and baths creates a bright and timeless atmosphere. Take a time out in the Relaxation Rooms full of gentle lights, fragrances, rocking chairs and waterbeds, which are bliss by the way and hard to peel yourself away from! Other facilities include sensory pools, Kneipp circuit, Vichy shower, music therapy pool, variety of saunas, Steam Bath, and Salt Room. Therefore more than enough to keep you occupied within the Spa itself let alone the amazing natural gym/ playground (which ever you prefer) you have in the form of mountains on your doorstep.
Like any spa there are an abundance of facial and body treatments available, some unique to the resort. This is definitely a Spa where boredom is not an option. We highly recommend rating yourself to an evening dip in the pool illuminated by torches and candlelight under the stars! There are great packages for honeymooners, couples and even have a Bachelorette party option! By far the best romantic getaway around!!!
Known for its more extreme mountain pursuits can defiantly contend with most on the Spa front also. With so many spa hotels to choose from you are spoilt for choice if a more central location in town is what your looking for. Only 60-minutes from Geneva Airport you will be in your slippers and spa robe quicker than you think!
